Huawei Ascend P6

Today Huawei announces its worlds slimmest smartphone, yes you’ve heard it folks. At 6.18mm and weighs just about 120g making this phone very easy to hold and fits perfectly in the pocket. To be honest it didn’t ever feel like I had it when I’ve put it in my pocket. Inside the phone is Huawei’s custom 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and its 4.7-inch high definition display which has a resolution of 720 x 1280. One of the questions at the launch was why Huawei did not choose a full high definition display, and instead go with 720p. The answer was to cut the cost of the device. Considering that this is a flagship phone, consumer’s expectations are quite high. A generous 5MP front facing camera at front, for less grainy photos. Along with that is the usual 8MP rear facing camera. The Huawei Ascend P6 has a very classy looks and certainly feels very high quality, thanks to the all metal body of the phone, it’s something that most users would definitely want. It is running the latest Android 4.2.2 operating system with Huawei’s custom skin (emotion UI) on top. One of the features that was missing was the ability to add widgets on the lock screen, which I hope they would include on the next update. The custom skin is very customizable, with choices of different themes depending on your liking. It’s powered by a 2,000 mAh battery, although I haven’t tested the battery life, Huawei claims that using the battery optimization and power saving technology will improve the battery life by 30%. The Huawei Ascend P6 will retail for $499 AUD. It comes in black and white colours (more colours depending on Australian demand) and will be available at JB Hi-Fi and Dick Smith stores from July 15, 2013....
