SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD Review

Posted by on Dec 15, 2015

Hard Drives (HDD) have come a long way, you probably even have a couple right now all running at the same time to keep all your important files. Portability wise, it has been more compact therefore they are now easier to pack on the go. The Extreme 500 Portable SSD from Sandisk is one them, and yes portable SSD’s are here! SSD’s are ususally used as your computer’s internal storage, but not anymore. Not only will these next generation drives be compact but will also boost the media transfer speed by 4X faster than a standard USB 3.0 hard drive. The packaging is simple and minimal. You get a tiny booklet, a micro-USB cable and the SSD drive itself. It’s a plug and play drive meaning you don’t need a special driver to run it. Design wise – it is rugged thanks the rubber frame around it that also absorbs impact from drops. It can also handle hot and cold temperatures between -20C to 70C. My only concern is that it is a little flimsy when it comes to overall build...

Lamborghini Unveils new phone at CES 2015

Jan 6, 2015

Tonino Lamborghini is all about the Luxury. That is to be expected, considering the Lamborghini name, and they carry on a family tradition with Iconic Design. Today at CES, they unveiled their latest Android smartphone, called the 88 Tauri. Building on a catalog of unique luxury accessories ranging from wristwatches, to eyewear, and jewelry, to high-tech headphones, 88 Tauri’s design aesthetic emphasizes quality materials in a sleek, distinctive package. The sharp, geometric lines and color combos represent the iconic Lamborghini style, with the famous Bull on both sides of the phone conveying the spirit of the legendary brand. The 88 Tauri offers 3 colors including Black, Gold and Steel Silver. Only 1947 units of each color will be made, in honor of the YOB of the founder, Mr. Tonino Lamborghini. “Mobile phones are such personal devices that someone’s choice of smartphone says a lot about them. 88 Tauri is the latest example of applying the Tonino Lamborghini design philosophy to the accessory we all use the most,” said Gianluca Filippi, CEO Tonino Lamborghini Group. “Uncompromising quality in every detail, down to the stitching, and vibrant color choices help our devices – and users – to stand out from a sea of too-similar phones.” The phone has a Snapdragon 801 clocked at upto 2.3GHZ per core, with 3GB of ram and running android 4.4. With a 5 inch 1080P display, the 3400mah battery is necessary and the company claims 35 hours of talk time on 3G. The camera boasts 20MP with a dual LED flash, and the front facing shooter is a whopping 8 megapixels. Selfies, much? The phone also has 64 GB of internal memory, expandable to 128GB via a Micro-SD card. The 88 Tauri will be available in select stores starting January 5th. The price? Sit down first. Are you sitting down? Well, its $6300. Yep, $6300 for a PHONE.  Do you think the phone is worth the hefty price tag, or is it just a gimmick like most Vertu phones? Kobo Aura H2O to be released soon

Nov 26, 2014

Ever fancied an e-reader, but somehow didn’t want to get a Kindle? Well, Kobo has a surprise in store for you. The Aura H2O, with bathtub support (Because thats a thing now, making everything waterproof) is coming out this February. The biggest upgrade to the Aura H2O over the previous model (The Aura HD) is the IP67 rating, meaning it’ll withstand water upto 1 meter and upto 30 minutes, provided the cover is closed. This makes your beach holidays much easier, not having to worry about dropping your e-reader in the water. The device is also dustproof, so it’s resistant to the sand there. KOBO The Kobo Aura H2O has a 6.8″ display with ‘Carta E-Ink’ technology. At 265 dpi, it’s sized the closest to paperbacks ever in e-readers. Powering all this is a 1GHZ processor, with 4GB of on-board storage. You can also expand this to 32Gb with the SD Card slot, in case you want to carry the entire public library on your device. As always, you can change the font to your hearts desire. The page turns are swift. The device is really sleek. And, you can get books sideloaded on the device if you find it cheaper on another site. The Kobo Aura H2O will be available starting February 2015 at a price of $229 AUD. You can get it online at kobo.com or in-store at JB HiFi. I won’t be giving up my precious Kindle Paperwhite for this device, but will you? Let us...

Oppo N3 unveiled: World’s first Swiveling Camera

Oppo N3 unveiled: World’s first Swiveling Camera

Oct 30, 2014

Last year Oppo redefined the selfie by releasing a smartphone that could use the primary camera, as a front facing camera as well. This year, they’ve improvised on that, and launched the Oppo N3, the world’s first smartphone with a Motorized camera. That’s right. Yesterday, in Singapore, Oppo did the unthinkable. The camera on the Oppo N3 is Motorized, and can be swiveled 206 degrees, and is capable of taking pictures using free-stop and multi-angle shooting. The camera can also be controlled using a remote control, which Oppo calls the O-Click. The 16 Megapixel shooter can also take Panoramic shots, in both Landscape and Potrait. The phone also features Target-tracking focus shift function, which follows a moving target to help users create action photos and videos. The camera, which was developed with Schnieder Electric, also has the ability to take 64 MP images! (Upscaled from 16, Ultrapixel-like technology) Other than the revolutionary camera, the specs are pretty standard (Not by any means Low-end!!). The phone comes with a Snapdragon 801 CPU and 2GB of ram, paired with 32GB of in-built storage. With a 5.5 inch display, the pictures you take with the camera are going to look wonderful. The VOOC Rapid charging system gets the battery to 75% in just 30 minutes, with just a 5 minute charge allowing a 2 hour call. Stay tuned for our full review of the Oppo N3, in the coming weeks. Will you be getting the N3? Are Selfies really that important to you? Let us know in the comments down...
