The ASUS GX700- Insanely good or just insane?

The ASUS GX700- Insanely good or just insane?

Sep 5, 2015

Asus unveiled quite a lot of interesting stuff at IFA this year, but the one product that definitely caught everyone’s eye is this one. The GX700 gaming laptop. The world’s first 17″ gaming laptop with Water cooling. Now you might ask (Even I did, when I first saw this) “A laptop with WATER COOLING? HOW? JUST HOW?”. Well, you see that bulky attachment over there? That contains a radiator, reservoir and the pump. You can do some serious overclocking with the K-series skylake processor Asus has put in there (K-series skylake processors come unlocked, and can be overclocked pretty easily), and get little to no heating issues whatsoever. Asus is yet to announce the exact GPU, but it’s an Nvidia GEForce. Obviously, it’s bulkier than other gaming laptops, considering the water cooling and all, but you’ll be able to squeeze way more performance out of this than, say, an Alienware with the same specs. The laptop can be used without an attachment though, which is a boon to students who just want to type and browse with it in school/college. When you’re doing serious overclocking, especially in the tight confines of a laptop body, pushing air over your components using fans just doesn’t cut it. Water cooling systems run tubes of cold water through your PC, taking heat away. Water cooling is quieter and more effective, but you’ll be paying more for it. We’ll be updating this article when we get more info about the laptop itself, but in the meantime, check out The Verge’s hands on...

LG’s new Wireless Audio lineup

LG’s new Wireless Audio lineup

LG Electronics and Wireless Audio. Not the first thing that comes to everyone’s minds when they think of LG. To a layman, LG is a company that manufactures Phones, Air Conditioners, Refrigerators, and other home appliances. But that changed at IFA Berlin this year. LG announced that they’d be releasing the Music Flow P5 and the SoundPop 360, both developed for the consumer who wanted portability and sound quality. The Music Flow P5 supports LG’s auto Music play feature which begins playing music automatically when a source comes into range. Its battery lasts for 15 hours of continuous playback, and it looks pretty darn good. Its compelling design and versatility make it very appealing. On the other hand, the SoundPop 360 (Quite a weird name, isn’t it?) is designed to be super portable. LG says the design was inspired by a coffee tumbler, helping it fit into daily life. Blending well with any furniture or appliance, the SoundPop 360 is a great fit for any interior design. The battery lasts 20 hours of continuous playback. The sound quality packs a punch, and the small body ensures it fits into any backpack or handbag, for ultimate portability.   Both these devices feature Multi Point, which lets two devices connect simultaneously and share music. Dual play allows listeners to connect two LG bluetooth speakers to the same mobile device, for stereo mode or a Dual room setup.   LG are yet to announce the pricing, but we predict it’ll be in line with existing players in the market, like the Bose Soundlink Mini and the Beats...

Tonino Lamborghini is all about the Luxury. That is to be expected, considering the Lamborghini name, and they carry on a family tradition with Iconic Design. Today at CES, they unveiled their latest Android smartphone, called the 88 Tauri. Building on a catalog of unique luxury accessories ranging from wristwatches, to eyewear, and jewelry, to high-tech headphones, 88 Tauri’s design aesthetic emphasizes quality materials in a sleek, distinctive package. The sharp, geometric lines and color combos represent the iconic Lamborghini style, with the famous Bull on both sides of the phone conveying the spirit of the legendary brand. The 88 Tauri offers 3 colors including Black, Gold and Steel Silver. Only 1947 units of each color will be made, in honor of the YOB of the founder, Mr. Tonino Lamborghini. “Mobile phones are such personal devices that someone’s choice of smartphone says a lot about them. 88 Tauri is the latest example of applying the Tonino Lamborghini design philosophy to the accessory we all use the most,” said Gianluca Filippi, CEO Tonino Lamborghini Group. “Uncompromising quality in every detail, down to the stitching, and vibrant color choices help our devices – and users – to stand out from a sea of too-similar phones.” The phone has a Snapdragon 801 clocked at upto 2.3GHZ per core, with 3GB of ram and running android 4.4. With a 5 inch 1080P display, the 3400mah battery is necessary and the company claims 35 hours of talk time on 3G. The camera boasts 20MP with a dual LED flash, and the front facing shooter is a whopping 8 megapixels. Selfies, much? The phone also has 64 GB of internal memory, expandable to 128GB via a Micro-SD card. The 88 Tauri will be available in select stores starting January 5th. The price? Sit down first. Are you sitting down? Well, its $6300. Yep, $6300 for a PHONE.  Do you think the phone is worth the hefty price tag, or is it just a gimmick like most Vertu phones?
